Incredible India

Goa is India’s tropical paradise. “Slowly, slowly” is what you’ll hear as you arrive, settle in, and switch on India mode. We’re based on the edge of Mandrem Village, a vast stretch of beach in Northern Goa. The international airport GOX Mopa is only 45 minutes away on good roads. Direct flights from London Gatwick via Air India or TUI take 9 hours.

Our Venue

Ashiyana Ayurvedic Resort and Spa – Mandrem

Nestled within an exquisitely manicured tropical garden, Ashiyana is a serene yoga and Ayurveda resort, centred around a beautiful spa. There are rooms for every taste, a restaurant where we eat communally and several swimming pools to dip in. The beach is just over the bridge and if that feels too far away curl up in a shady nook with a book or take a nap. Ashiyana is a deeply relaxing place where you can be close to nature and as social or solitary as you need.

Mandrem is a little vlllage in the middle of a vast stretch of beach. You can walk to Ashwem for the great boutiques or Arambol in the other direction for ecstatic dance and hippy stalls. If you’re feeling lively, kite surfing and surfing lessons are possible. For those that want to chill there are some seriously bougie beach bars that could rival Ibiza.

The Retreat Experience

My yoga rereats all follow the process of Banish > Purify > Invoke.  This allows us to create space to nourish our spiritual connection and to move forward with our lives connected to the light within.

A retreat is not a holiday, it’s a deep soul searching and opportunity to create lasting change. It’s with awareness that we are able to drop our emotional baggage, address the habits that drive our negativity and free ourselves from our attachments to our pain.

We’re very blessed to gather during the very first week of the new year. We’ll spend our days checking where are we limiting ourselves and use the practice to reorient ourselves to universal flow and abundance. Dreaming  into the lives we truely want to lead.

Morning

Nature is the greatest healer, and where possible, we will practice outside. We’ll begin our day greeting the sunrise  with gentle, stretchy sun salutations and a meditation, moving to the  shala at Ashiyana to practice a full Kundalini kriya before brunch at 10 a.m.

Daytime

Your day is then free to do as you wish – lounging around in the shade or sunshine, spa time, shopping, surfing – until we meet again at 4:30 p.m. for yoga, breathwork, and meditation before enjoying the sunset on the beach in all its glorious technicolour.

Evening

A delicious communal buffet supper is served at 7pm. After supper, we’ll have a shorter evening meditation or join one of Ahiyana’s incredible sound baths..

Who are these weeks for?.

My Kundalini Yoga retreats are for adventurous souls who want to get the most juice out of life.

Some people come with their partners or friends and family. Many come on their own, as retreats make a great solo adventure.

It’s always an eclectic mix of people of all ages and abilities from different walks of life, Whether you’re a long-term student of mine or we’re meeting for the first time, everyone is made to feel very welcome and part of the group.

You don’t need to have done Kundalini Yoga before. I’ll explain the practice clearly so you can get the most out of our time together. What’s most important is that you come with an open mind and heart, ready to dive deep into the experience.

As we deepen our spiritual practice, we reconnect with parts of ourselves we may have neglected, break through mental blocks, upgrade unhealthy patterns, spark new ideas, and cultivate a profound sense of lightness and clarity.

By nurturing our spiritual connection, we initiate profound transformation and healing. The inner work we do creates ripples of change that touch all aspects of our lives, allowing us to experience deeper joy and a greater sense of aliveness. This inner growth fosters healthier, more loving relationships with ourselves primarily and therefore with others.

They say when you travel to Inida, pack half of what you would normally take and bring twice the money! We’re here to yoga and chill but be prepared, the shopping is fantastic!

Nudity or topless sunbathing isn’t acceptable, bikini’s / things are fine on the beach. For walking around, sitting and eating and practicing yoga and meditation pack light breathable cotton clothes.

Our little beach village of Mandrem has an abundance of shops and stalls where you can buy beautiful cotton clothes, bags, jewellery and trinkets. Jump in a taxi or stroll down the beack to Ashvem and you’ll find some seriously great boutiques behind La Plage. I’ve also made an aquatance with the owner of a beautiful boutique in Parra, a bougie little town half an hour away. For those interested she’ll take us on a shopping tour of the boutiques there.

There are direct flights from London Gatwick to Goa Manohar Mopa (GOX) with either Air India or TUI. It’s a 45-minute drive from Ashiyana on good roads.

I can arrange an airport transfer via Ashiyana, or you can arrange your own taxi at the airport.

There is a second, older airport in Goa, Dabolim (GOA). It’s about twice the travel time to Ashiyana, and the roads are not as good, but it’s also an international airport with many direct connections within India and around other cities around the world.

You will probably need a visa to enter India which is your responsibility to arrange. You can do this  yourself though the Indian Government’s website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/ or use a private company to arrange it for you, like this one who we’ve used before https://sanamtravel.co.uk/  A 30 day tourist e-visa costs $25 dollars at time of writing.

Goa isn’t in the malaria zone, travel vaccines are a deeply personal choice please do your own research.

AKA thoughts and considerations, please read these through carefully before booking.

  • It’s important to understand a kundalini yoga retreat isn’t a holiday. Kundalini yoga and meditation can be quite emotionally confrontational. People who attend my retreats are up for deep diving into themselves and facing what’s been laying deep and dormant within then. Being able to self regulate your emotional state is a prerequiste of attending one of my retreats.
  • Respect for the group is important, we are all working on ourselves together. It is in community we heal, the more focused we are on the work we’re doing together the more power we generate and the bigger the transformation.
  • I reserve the right to not accept your booking if I think attending this retreat wouldn’t be appropiate for either you or me.
  • Please travel with comprehensive travel insurance.
  • Any visas required to enter Inida are your responsibility to organise. You can apply via the offical governement website or get a third party to do it for you. I can share details of these to help you. A standard 30 day tourist visa cost about $25.
  • I operate a strict first come first served policy, only your deposit payment reserves your space.
  • Inital payment is £250 non refundabale deposit. You can split the rest of your payment into 4 equal parts or pay in full as you need. You must be paid in full by 1st November or you risk loosing your space.
  • Cancellations – Up until 1st November I will refund 100% of your payment except your £250 deposit. If you cancel after 1st November there are no refunds in any circumstances, I’m sorry 🙏 I will gift your place to someone in my community who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to go.
  • It is important that you understand that participating in one of my retreats is entirely at your own risk. I do not accept any liability for theft, damage to personal possessions, personal injuries or medical conditions that develop during or after the retreat.

To book or if you have any questions please email me.

About Me

Hello and Sat Nam! If we haven’t met yet, it’s wonderful to e-meet you 🙏. My name is Kiranjot, which means “ray of sunshine.” I’ve been teaching Kundalini Yoga since 2008 and practicing since 2003.

I’m a people person at heart and find great joy in bringing people together for retreats. Watching everyone relax into the space, create connections and have profound experiences and personal revelations is truly an honour. I hold a safe space with lightness, allowing each individual to fully feel themselves.

This will be my 3rd time to Ashiyana in Goa, a very peaceful place that holds a special kind of magic. If you have any questions about me, the practice, or what this retreat can offer you  reach out by email.
